September marks the end of the holidays for many people. It's time to get back to work, studies and obligations, in other words, it's time to get back to the routine and say goodbye to summer. However, September is also full of intentions, goals and changes.

In my case, this year September has brought with it a big change in my life, both on a personal and professional level. I will tell you why: I studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Alicante and, to be honest, during the four years of my degree I never felt that I wanted to dedicate myself to it professionally in the future, so I decided that when I finished it, I would refocus my academic career. So it was that my passion for English and my desire to experience the benefits of the teaching profession —making a difference, building relationships, learning continuously, being a source of inspiration and so on— led me to redirect my career to teaching English. So, three months after finishing my degree, I find myself studying the Master's Degree in Teacher Education at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, in Madrid. If I had been told this a few years earlier, I certainly wouldn't have believed it.

Classes started last week and I feel very fortunate to be here, as I am aware that this Master's Degree is in high demand and few are fortunate enough to be able to take it. So I am looking forward to acquiring the skills and knowledge that will shape me as a professional teacher and, of course, I am very much looking forward to enjoying this adventure, which has only just begun.
