PROJECT BASED LEARNING

There are many ways to describe Project Based Learning, but some of its features are common in most definitions. Thomas (2000) collects ideas from different sources to come up with the following:
"(…) projects are complex tasks, based on challenging questions or problems, that involve students in design, problem-solving, decision making, or investigative activities; give students the opportunity to work relatively autonomously over extended periods of time; and culminate in realistic products or presentations".
For this last task, we had to create a project based learning lesson and my group and I chose to focus on bullying awareness. Basically, the project consists of creating in groups a video for an anti-bullying campaign and once it has been produced, the students will participate in a contest. This project combines three fields: English language, digitalization and education in civic and ethical values, as students will have to make the video in English, use technological means to create it, edit it, add effects, etc. and bullying is a very worrying issue in the classroom, as there are more and more cases and it is extremely important to educate students about this problem in order to prevent it. Therefore, I think it is a great idea to implement in the classroom
